Sometimes incorrectly referred to as abdominal massage, Mercier Therapy is not an abdominal massage. It is a soft tissue visceral manipulative therapy technique used to help restore the health and general well-being within the pelvis and pelvic area.
This gentle, non-invasive technique is designed to restore blood flow, remove blockage and break up scar tissue.
Mercier Therapy is integrative and complimentary to traditional healthcare provider’s care, but is an alternative, holistic treatment for common pelvic discomfort issues. Amy Kaiser is a Certified Mercier Therapy Practitioner. Only Certified Mercier Therapy Practitioners have been personally trained and certified in the technique’s pioneer and founder, Dr. Jennifer Mercier.
Mercier Therapy can help with:
- Frequent urination
- Pelvic pain and discomfort
- C-Section recovery
- Pelvic surgery recovery
- Menstrual pain and issues
- Malalignment of organs
- Sexual abuse trauma
- Pelvic or hip injury
- Bowel & bladder issues
- Prostate issues (*a physician’s referral is needed to treat prostate issues)
What it is:
Mercier Therapy for pelvic pain / issues is done over a period of 4-6 weeks and is done in 6 individual sessions at 60 minutes per session. This visceral manipulative technique is done abdominally and requires NO vaginal work. Appropriate referral to a Uro / Gyn Physician can be given for further evaluation if needed or desired.
How it works
When increasing mobility whether it be your shoulder joint or your uterus, you are optimizing the true function of the area and helping to return blood flow – which is therapeutic. Mercier Therapy works to break up scar tissue, restore blood flow and remove blockages.
This program is custom tailored and personalized to each individual’s situation.
To learn more about your specific needs and to plan a course of treatment, we start with a private consultation at my office. Please be sure to allow 60-90 minutes for the session, and bring any past medical records and/or information that may be helpful when discussing your history.
During the consult, a full medical history will be obtained and a pelvic organ mobility evaluation will be done, enabling me to develop the best plan to assist you.
